Dead Island 2 will be coming to PlayStation 4 in mid-2015, Sony announced at its E3 press conference. The gratuitously gory brawler will feature 8 player multiplayer, as well as multiple character classes, and a deep skill system. What's more, if you're playing on the Japanese giant's super system you'll receive as yet unannounced exclusive content.
Interestingly, the new title isn't being developed by series alumni Techland, but rather Yager Development, the studio behind critical darling Spec Ops: The Line. It seems like a bit of an odd choice to us, especially considering the undead franchise's overwhelmingly silly tone, but we're still intrigued to see what the new team can come up with.
Oh, and just so we're clear, the game may be called Dead Island 2, but it is actually the third title in the series. Try to figure that one out. Are you down for some zombie killing action, or has this slightly obnoxious trailer turned you off? Remember to double tap in the comments section below.

Pretty awful trailer, I'll be interested to see some gameplay. I enjoyed dead island but I'm not too sure I'd bother again. A case of wait n see.
Haha I actually liked that trailer. Zombie game not taking itself too seriously is great in my book
Ha loved the trailer. Looking fun.
@Mrskinner I agree it was funny and that's good thing
By the end of the trailer I was enjoying myself. Once I got past the "THIS IS SILLY" shock. On a positive note, my non-gaming wife loved it, made me watch it again, and said "You're getting that game!"
Yes, yes I am.
Very bad trailer this game isn't on my radar honestly.
@Mrskinner I for one agree and disagree with you. For two reasons. for one reason, it depends if the game is truly serious or not, and for two, the game i believe would be better if it was serious, only cuz i feel some zombie games out there arnt entirley serious enough, like BO2 Zombies or Left 4 Dead. Dont get me wrong i love me Left 4 Dead, a lot. and BO2 Zombies is great in my opinion, but i would like to see a truly serious dark atmosphere first person open world Zombie game like Last of Us, Dont Starve ( concept of collecting supplies) and even like No More Room In Hell on PC, with the guns being really low on ammo. If there are any serious Zombie Apocalypse games out there like what i just described, i prolly either know abou tit and forgot cuz im really tired or i just dont know about it at all.
