EA really needs to sort out these leaks. As it stands, Battlefield Hardline, presumably one of its big E3 surprises, has all but been revealed before the event has even started. First it was a leaked logo, and then an internal trailer, and now the official release date teaser. With little left to actually surprise us, the company has given up and officially released the slightly obnoxious clip. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right?
Developed by Visceral Games, the team behind the Dead Space series, the title takes the sharp shooting of the Battlefield franchise and relocates it to the harsh city streets. Think Bad Company by way of Michael Mann's Heat, and you'll be in the right ballpark. What's more, the game features an episodic structure, as well as a star-studded cast, including members of the popular TV shows House of Cards and Justified.
You'll be shooting up the streets on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on 21st October. With the ridiculously titled Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and a slew of other next-gen titles also launching around that area, now is the time to prepare yourself for an action packed second half to 2014. Are you looking forward to Battlefield Hardline, or did the fourth entry in the series leave a bad taste in your mouth? Play the street life in the comments section below.

I love Battlefield 4! And this new one looks great!
I'll bet you anything the servers are going to be rubberbanding like a mofo in this game. You can tell when the launch is going to suck, it's when they bribe the heck out of people with pre-order stuff that everyone gets later anyway. I'll probably wait like 6 or so months before even buying it. I've learned my lesson after buying every BF game from EA/DICE at launch, everytime it was a disaster.
As far as shooters go this Fall season I'm much more interested in Destiny, and believe it or not, CoD: Advanced Warfare (hoping it might actually be good). However, I'd love to see EA and Dice make up for the BF 4 debacle, especially since the holiday season is pretty barren at the moment. Hopefully this game isn't a broken sh*tty mess upon release.
Battlefield 1942 this is not, sorry folks but there are plenty other "modern military shooters in a city setting" out there. I want large scale vehicular battles back like in the good old days of Battlefield 1942! Why should they bother thinking about something new, or at least do the old stuff agan if they can just milke the franchise (no we're not doing Battlefield on a yearly basis! - rename it to something like HARDLINE and it's not a numbered Battlefield, problem solved). THIS SUCKS.
