EA Sports UFC

Hot on the heels of last night’s leak, EA Sports has entered the dragon with a brand new trailer teasing the inclusion of Bruce Lee in its upcoming mixed martial arts simulation. As previously hinted, if you pre-order the upcoming EA Sports UFC for the PlayStation 4, you’ll be able to play as the kung-fu king – and it sounds like developer EA Canada has put a lot of work into the character.

“We were quickly connected to Bruce Lee Enterprises who provided us with not only an impressive catalogue of digital references spanning Bruce’s acting career, but many behind-the-scenes and candid shots that helped us to identify the specific era that we wanted to capture, as well as the iconic elements of his face and body,” explained art director Ian Lloyd.

But why include the famous fighter in the release at all? “I feel like this is the most ridiculous question,” explained creative director Brian Hayes. “You have the premier organisation in the fastest growing sport in the world, the UFC; and the most iconic martial artist in the history of the world, Bruce Lee. I can’t conceive a universe where bringing these two things together doesn’t make sense.”

The game’s due out on 17th June, and you’ll simply need to pre-order from a participating retailer in order to unlock access to the Fist of Fury star.
