Sony's handling of the seemingly never-ending delays to PlayStation 4 exclusive DriveClub has been the very definition of radio silence. Apart from a few vague comments here and there, we've really heard nothing of any note for months now. However, a recent email sent out by computer manufacturer Dell claims that the game will be racing onto store shelves on 12th June.
As always, this is to be taken with a liberal tablespoon of salt, but it does match up with some other rumours that were floating around a couple of months ago. And while the timing may seem a bit odd – it is during E3 after all – the platform holder did unleash The Last of Us around the same time last year, and we're told that that game did pretty well for itself.
If nothing else, we wish that the Japanese giant would just let the cat out of the bag so we don't have to keep writing silly articles like this one. Are you still keen on DriveClub, or has playing the waiting game killed your buzz? Get your motors running in the comments section below.

Seemingly never-ending delays? Last I checked, it was only delayed once.
@BornOfEvil I believe it's been delayed twice now, but yes, I may have taken a bit of artistic license for dramatic effect
@BornOfEvil yea I think what hurts this game the more is the ton of 'rumors' about it.. It will be out when ready,I think it was delayed once and then IGN 'rumors' made it sound delayed again. I kinda doubt that one rumor on a Dell site but whatever.
@k_andersen After the delay in October, it never got another launch date. All we were told is that it's supposed to be launching "early 2014," which means it still has time.
Of course, you likely know more about it than me, so I could be wrong and it probably has been delayed twice.
@k_andersen I dont want to sound like I know it all or even care but Sony mentioned not long ago we d have news and release date in the coming weeks. So its not like not heard anything or silent radio completely
@N711 They did, but it was still kinda vague. I guess I was trying to refer to the vagueness more than anything else, but I don't think I did a very good job of making that clear in the article. Regardless, I think we can all agree, that the sooner it comes out, the better
@BornOfEvil anytime after the middle of April isn't early, it obviously won't be released for at least another 6 weeks. I'm pretty sure they would make some great big point that they might make an announcement in a week or two and then give a release date with a months notice. How is anyone supposed to be excited about this.
it's only been delayed once
Drive club! Woo!
The fact that it was supposed to be released in october and is yet to get a release date shows that internally things are not going to schedule. The fact that they don't give the public a weekly "delayed" update doesn't render the sentence "seemingly never-ending delays" incorrect. In fact I think it accurately paints a picture of its situation.
In the middle of E3 doesn't really seem smart since it easily gets overshadowed by all new announcements etc.
They had the balls to do it last year with The Last of Us so if it's indeed releasing in the middle of E3 then it could mean they're once again extremely confident in the quality of the game.
And yes, it's only been delayed once.
If it means 60fps then I'm all for waiting. Just hope it's good and not yet another generic driving game.
Out of DriveClub, Forza Motorsport 5, and Project CARS, I think Project CARS looks the best.
At some point during their main E3 presentation they'll probably get around to talking about PS + and will then casually mention that DriveClub will be up for download as soon as the show is over.
If it works with my Logitech Steering Wheel, i would be very excited.
that's only a week after my birthday I wonder if it will still be free for PS+ users?
it actually was on the japans launch page for ps4 , so that does officially makes it 2 delays
