DriveClub

Here’s one thing that they don’t teach you in marketing school: tease impending details about your delayed PlayStation 4 project on a Sunday night. Still, seeing as we’ve practically exhausted all of our DriveClub puns over the past six or so months, we’re thrilled to learn that developer Evolution Studios is edging ever closer to unveiling a release date – even if it did hint at the information at the worst time imaginable.

“We know that you want news about DriveClub,” a studio spokesperson stated (the obvious) on the game’s official Facebook page. “We are going to bring you up to speed with a full DriveClub update soon, because we are immensely proud of how the game is developing, and we’re confident that you’ll see why when we show you more.” The comments mimic those made by the platform holder itself recently, who stressed that the game is making “spectacular progress”.

In addition to thanking fans for their ongoing support, the company also went on to tease what we’re going to see in the coming weeks. “Expect an official release date, full game details, and new videos,” the correspondence continued. “We're looking forward to showing you more.” Pushed for a more specific timeframe, the firm confirmed that the game will be getting a full re-reveal in the weeks leading up to E3. That more or less means next month, then.

The first-party racer has faced a long and arduous final straight to release. Originally set to be a launch title, the game was pulled from the platform holder’s lineup at the very last minute, and while it seemed to be improving every week in the run-up to Christmas, all but disappeared from existence in the New Year. Very little has been said about the exclusive in 2014, but it seems like the platform holder’s finally ready to pull the tarpaulin off its freshly shined supercar. We can't wait.
