Mercenary Kings Developer Tribute Games Has Set Its Sights on a New Title

Posted by Kell Andersen

More info to be revealed at PAX

Indie studio Tribute Games has been a bit busy of late, having recently released old school shoot-'em-up Mercenary Kings. There's no rest for the wicked, though, as it's also just announced a totally new game by way of a frustratingly ambiguous tweet. The Quebec-based developer released the above image accompanied simply by the following statement: "Fall 2014."

Judging by its previous output, we're inclined to think that this will be a retro-inspired title, probably in the action adventure genre. What's more, while platforms have yet to be announced, considering the studio's history, we reckon that a release on Sony's systems is a pretty safe bet.

Have you tried out Mercenary Kings yet? Are you excited for another old school romp from the same team, or will you be waiting until this one's given away with PlayStation Plus? Let us know in the comments section below

@k_andersen Haha, I was talking more about the developer. I know they need to drum up interest in their panel, but a few more details would have been nice!

Love the way the title makes me remember Ghouls 'n Ghosts though. (Even with the sole apostrophe before the "n") Can't be a coincidence, can it?

I wouldn't mind another retro inspired game, the studio can keep shoving them out too I'll keep buying.
