A spanner in the works

The LEGO Movie Videogame capitalised on half-term this week, with flustered parents no doubt stumping up for the cinematic spin-off in order to keep their kids quiet during the seven day break from school. Despite being its second successive week at the summit, sales of the title actually rose, with FIFA 14 and Call of Duty: Ghosts being held down in second and third respectively.

The film’s success made it a great week in general for LEGO games, with nine of the franchise’s older releases building a ladder into the overall Top 40. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes finished up in fifth, while LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Lord of the Rings, and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean all put in an appearance.

Elsewhere, pretty platformer Rayman Legends re-entered the top ten on the back of its recent PlayStation 4 port, while Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII slipped all the way down into eleventh. Gran Turismo 6 raced into 16th on the back of retailer promotions, as Killzone: Shadow Fall stuck around in 20th. Have you flashed your cash at any new software lately?
