In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Naughty Dog's survival horror opus The Last of Us is the recipient of yet another prestigious prize. The International Animated Film Society hosts the annual awards show The Annies to recognise the most noteworthy animation in all forms of media, and the much acclaimed PlayStation 3 title managed to bag the prize for the Best Animated Video Game, beating out competitors Diggs Nightcrawler and iOS game Tiny Thief. Presumably the title's impressively subtle cut scenes and facial animations are to thank for this impressive honour.
Before you get too excited, though, spare a thought for Naughty Dog's long suffering trophy cabinet, as the tortured timberware is surely struggling under the weight of the survival horror's seemingly endless parade of awards and accolades. Are you excited to see The Last of Us receive even more mainstream recognition? Were you a fan of the game's detailed animation? Move your body in the comments section below.

Interesting to see Diggs Nightcrawler in there. I really, really must play that.
The Last of Us deserves every award it's received. It's not everyday you get to experience something as well crafted as TLOU is and it's only going to get better on the 14th.
TLOU does have good animation; all the chars look, sound and act like real people. TR can attest to the difficulty in that
I would have chosen black flag or beyond two souls. I haven't played it but tr definitive edition?
TLOU was the best game I've played ever. it deserves more awards. I've never felt for characters in a video game like I did with TLOU
