Time goes by so slowly
Seeing as the New Year news grind has slowed to a crawl, we figured that you may appreciate this short behind-the-scenes video regarding Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. In it, various key figures from Square Enix outline the upcoming sequel’s battle system, setting, and Majora’s Mask-esque time system. The game still looks exceptional as far as we’re concerned – sadly, it seems that Japan doesn’t quite agree.

So what they are saying with seamless exploring is that there finally is an overworld. I feel like they are over-hyping the game, as it is most likely going to crash and burn.
It's SE, the only time they seem to get FF right, is when they do MMORPG's or when they do a Action RPG Final Fantasy.
I've always hated turn based, it's what puts me off of Final Fantasy games except Crisis Core and the upcoming FFXV.
