With a game that’s billed as Bomberman meets the Bride of Chucky, you’d think that Polish developer Bloober Team would be more forthcoming about its upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Basement Crawl. The arena-based multiplayer game was originally pegged as a next-gen launch title, but seems to have slipped into 2014.

Nevertheless, the studio has deployed some new screenshots, showing various discotheques of death. Much like Hudson Soft’s abovementioned icon, it seems that your objective here is to lure your adversaries into traps in order to escape from horrifying environments unscathed. The major twist is that you’ll be playing as small puppets that make Jigsaw look tame.

Bomberman was probably the first game I ever became seriously seriously insanely addicted to. If this is a fraction of that then it should do well enough. I would prefer to play this on vita so I see some tethering ahead. It would have hugely benefited in making a vita version and adding cross buy in my opinion. I hope they consider a vita version
