Groovy

Scott Miller, creator of Duke Nukem and co-founder of 3D Realms, appears to be working on a brand new title for the PlayStation 4. The game, codenamed 'Project Ascender', was spotted on the Linked In profile of the CEO of Interceptor Entertainment, Frederik Schreiber. The company's previous credits include porting the first two Duke Nukem games to iOS, as well as the recently released Rise of the Triad reboot.

At this point, we have literally zero details on the upcoming title, but with Miller's familiarity in the genre, and Interceptor Entertainment's old-school sensibilities, it's not totally insane to assume that it may be a shooter in a classical style. According to Schreiber's profile, a team of 19 has been working on it since September. What's more, Joystiq reports that the game's executive producer Khaled Ibrahimi has postulated a 2014 release date.

For now, it's probably best that we all firmly cross our fingers in the hopes that this doesn't take another 14 years to make, like that last Duke Nukem game. You know, the one that we only talk about in hushed voices. Are you excited for this brand new announcement, or do you smell vapourware? Scream and shout in the comments section below.
