It may not have the global appeal of Gran Turismo or God of War, but Sony San Diego’s flagship baseball series is very much a system seller in North America. As such, the impending announcement of MLB 14: The Show is sure to leave you batting the air. The official Twitter account of the critically acclaimed series posted a teaser message earlier this week, encouraging followers to “stay tuned” for more information on 4th November.

The publisher hasn’t officially confirmed platforms just yet, but it seems certain that the sequel will deploy on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita. Expect the next generation console to comprise much of the title's initial marketing materials, as this is undoubtedly going to be a big exclusive for the soon-to-be-released system. With the futuristic format mere weeks away now, it’s also the perfect time to unveil it. Are you ready for more baseball? Hit a humdinger in the comments section below.

I'm pretty content with waiting awhile to upgrade to PS4 thanks to a giant pile of games I still need to play, but a strong next-gen version of this has a chance to change my mind pretty quickly!

While these games are amazing, I've played them so much since 2010 that I'm in need of something new and groundbreaking to really get back into it again. Fingers crossed!
