Reap what you sow

When it comes to the PlayStation 4 version of Diablo III, Blizzard has us completely spoilt. It was already announced that the next-gen port – which will be hacking and slashing its way onto the system sometime in 2014 – will include the Reaper of Souls expansion, and now a recent Polygon report has revealed that it'll also come packed with some exclusive features.

One of these new additions is the ability to send gifts. If you obtain a legendary item from a loot drop, you'll also get a second bonus item which can be gifted to players on your friends list. Pretty neat, huh? But perhaps the most interesting new feature is avenger kills. If, on your arduous quest, you are slain by a vile monster, that ogre will level up and then be transported to a friend's game. The beast will wage war on your comrade, and, if victorious, will level up again and target a new friend. However, if your ally slays the fiendish brute, both of you will receive some precious loot.

Polygon also detailed what to expect from the upgraded Diablo III experience. Look forward to a whole host of graphical improvements, as well as shorter loading times and touchpad support for menu navigation. You'll also be able to transfer characters from your PlayStation 3 version of the game. What about Remote Play on the PlayStation Vita? Blizzard's response: "It's on our radar." Brilliant.

Have you already picked up Diablo III for PS3, or are you waiting to wage war against its devilish denizens on PS4? Stay awhile and listen in the comments section below.
