PlayStation 4 Mega Bundle

If you’ve already pre-ordered a PlayStation 4 in the UK, chances are you’ll have been contacted by your retailer of choice regarding one of several Sony sanctioned bundles. Unfortunately, the platform holder has been curiously vague about these packages in the public space, leaving it down to IGN to actually confirm the contents of these options with GAME.

First and foremost, you’ll still be able to purchase the console on its own for £349 if you like, though you’ll be able to add Killzone: Shadow Fall or Watch Dogs for £399. Upgrading will net you the Special Edition of Guerrilla Games’ first-person shooter, though it’s not entirely clear what that entails just yet. Perhaps it comes with the game’s Season Pass?

Elsewhere, you’ll be able to buy the system alongside the aforementioned fist-party favourite and the retail edition of DriveClub for £439, or you’ll have the option to snag the previously announced Mega Bundle – which includes Killzone: Shadow Fall, an additional DualShock 4, and the new PlayStation Eye – for £449. Not quite within the same price range as the Xbox One, then, but no less enticing.

It’s interesting that adding a game to the console whacks an additional £50 on top, lending credence to the rumours suggesting that next generation titles will sell for around £60. Sony’s yet to confirm a fixed recommended retail price for PS4 releases in the UK, but it’s not looking promising at the moment, is it? We’ve got our fingers crossed that costs will settle down soon.

In the meantime, though, have you been offered one of these bundles by your chosen retailer yet? Are you still waiting to get a phone call or email? Which of these options is tickling your fancy? As always, let us know in the comments section below.
