The citizens of Los Santos know a thing or two about losing their rides – after all, there’s a good chance that you’ve spent the past week or so stealing other people’s cars. Now you could be about to get a taste of your own medicine, as Grand Theft Auto V has a glitch that’s prompting some parked vehicles to disappear or lose their pimpin’ upgrades from the safe houses in which they're stored.

“We have received some reports about problems with cars and garages, particularly after upgrading and then completing a mission, and are looking into this now,” said Rockstar Games on its website. “Unfortunately, we don't currently have a workaround to recover a car if it’s missing.” We’re pretty sure that’s what the Los Santos police department said, too.

While the developer is still investigating the issue – and presumably hurriedly putting together a patch – it thinks that the glitch may occur when you’re driving another character’s personal vehicle. "In the meantime, please try to avoid parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades."
