The Last of Us

As promised, the first of The Last of Us’ long-awaited expansion packs will step out of the shadows on 15th October in North America and 16th October in Europe. The add-on – dubbed the Abandoned Territories pack – will include four brand new multiplayer maps, each set in decayed areas of the title’s post-apocalyptic world.

You’ll be able to fight against fellow factions in a dynamic sandstorm on the Suburbs map, conquer a giraffe inhabited urban environment in the Bus Depot map, and stalk a twilight region in the Hometown map. Lastly, the Bookstore boasts a “stacked, bi-level layout adding a highly unique dose of vertical gameplay”.

Of course, the aforementioned maps represent just one third of the survival horror’s Season Pass. While a further multiplayer expansion is planned for next year, developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that more single player content is on the way. The studio’s just concluded a long casting process for a new character, and is set to start its performance capture shoot next week, with a December to January release in mind.

In order to make up for the wait, the company’s adding a couple of bonus items to the Season Pass. Those that own the DLC subscription will unlock access to sixty different head items, ranging from a Nightmare Mask to a Pigskin Hat. If you haven’t already purchased the post-release pledge, it can be bought for $19.99/€19.99.
