Still on top

While we appreciate that we’re in the midst of the slow summer season, it’s pretty unprecedented for a PlayStation 3 exclusive to cling onto the UK sales charts top spot for longer than a week. But despite a slew of bad press over the past few days, The Last of Us has managed to do just that, holding onto its place atop the summit for a third successive week.

Joel and Ellie’s depressive plight managed to stave off the retail release of Minecraft on the Xbox 360, in addition to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. On the PlayStation platforms, new entry Deadpool fought its way into sixth, while Tomb Raider and Assassin’s Creed III rounded out the top ten. What’s been keeping your wallet empty lately?
