According to Games Industry.biz, we will get a PlayStation 4 price out of Sony tonight – and the cheapest option will set you back $399.99. The website reports that the platform holder is planning three different versions of its hardware, with the most expensive retailing for an eye-watering (and rather unfortunate) $599.99. If true, it’s unclear what the high-end model will include, but it’s seems possible that a PlayStation Vita could be bundled alongside it.

The site adds that the company’s aiming to push 4K technology hard, which we hope isn’t going to get in the way of the great content. We understand that Sony has an ulterior motive as an electronics manufacturer to use the PlayStation brand as a Trojan horse, but after Microsoft’s showing earlier in the day, it really needs to just focus on the games.

For those that missed it, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will retail for $499.99 during its press conference. A cheaper option from Sony would prove a big advantage for the platform, but it depends on what the basic option ships with. How much would you be willing to pay for the Japanese giant’s next generation system? Let us know in the comment section below.
