There may well be yet another Need for Speed game on the horizon, but at least this one is packing some fancy next generation lighting effects. This first footage of the upcoming Need for Speed: Rivals is practically bursting with visual pizzazz, with dramatic thunderstorms, police car sirens, and bright tunnels all on display.
The game’s biggest play outside of its stellar visual technology, though, is its ability to seamlessly pair you with other players courtesy of the title’s new All Drive mechanic. This means that cops will dynamically be matched against street racers, without the need for lobby screens or loading. A similar feature is being incorporated into both The Division and Destiny, so this looks like it’s going to become a standard moving forward.

Hoping this is better than most wanted, which was boring
I'm hoping for a Vita version. NFS Most Wanted is currently the best racer the Vita has, in my opinion. Aside from the fact that the Origin account sign in is defective.
@Paulg_78 Yeah. I've got no idea why Most Wanted has a metacritic of 84% while The Run is on 68%. It should be the other way round. Sometimes I think reviewers just can't be bothered.
@ObviouslyAdachi I think a Vita version would have been announced if it was happening...
Looks very nice, although I don't see I'll have the money to get this, as I'll get DriveClub for free included in PS+ and three or four games I'd like to buy for PS4 before I'll buy another racer.
And yes, I know that those two are totally different approaches on racers, but still.
Nonetheless, good to see that there's a lot of around-launch-games that already look awesome.
looks better than driveclub.
@Sony_70 Agreed. The graphics are very slick. But still, money is tight and there's too much other good games to buy to afford another racer in the launch window of PS 4.
@Sony_70 Drive Club looks way better than this.
@TheRealBatman
Yeah No. The acutal gameplay footage of Driveclub is very rough and sub 30fps while NFS is 60fps.
I don;t doubt driveclub will look amazing but the E3 build looked really rough.
