Call of Duty: Ghosts 1

Looks like Microsoft doesn’t have time to squeeze Call of Duty: Ghosts into its press conference this year, as Activision has deployed some brand new footage from the upcoming sequel's campaign. The first snippet – running on next generation hardware – shows a couple of scuba diving soldiers navigating an underwater corridor before being ambushed. It definitely looks decent – yes, the fish swim out of the way – but the graphics aren't quite on the same tier as Battlefield 4 or Killzone: Shadow Fall. We suppose it is at least running at a faster frame rate.

The second video shows how you’ll be able to control your combat dog – named Riley – using a tablet computer, and take out guards in stealth sequences. Admittedly, it’s all a bit ridiculous – but when has Call of Duty ever tried to be realistic? It at least brings a different dynamic to the action, and we quite like the idea of barking to draw the attention of your adversaries. Still, you just know that the mutt’s going to peg it at some point during the campaign.

What do you make of the fresh footage? Are you looking forward to the next instalment in Activision's blockbuster series? Yap your responses in the comments section below.
