Floating closely behind the ghoulish wisps of the original Fatal Frame, platform holder Sony has confirmed that sequel Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly will haunt the PlayStation Network in North America this week. The barebones PS2 Classic puts you in the shoes of a pair of twins who are investigating a haunted village. Much like the original, you’ll need to use the series’ trademark Camera Obscura to exorcise spirits, earn points, and upgrade your lens.
There’s no word on a price just yet, but $9.99 seems to be the standard cost for these classic re-releases. If you’d like to know a little more about the game itself, Makoto Shibata penned an interesting post on the PlayStation Blog, which talks about some of the inspirations behind the game’s plot.
