Crash, bang, wallop

While the PlayStation 4 version of Ubisoft’s upcoming open world adventure Watch Dogs will essentially be the same as its PlayStation 3 counterpart, the publisher is hoping to push everything a little further on Sony’s next generation platform. Speaking as part of a video on the PlayStation Blog, senior producer Dominic Guay explained that the added horse power of the impending platform will enable the developer to enhance the experience.

“If you play Watch Dogs on the PS4, we want to make sure that we use all of the console’s capabilities," he said. "So, all of the game’s details we’re going to push forward. We’re going to have more immersion, we’re going to increase connectivity, and we’re going to enhance the density of things. It’s going to basically be the same game experience, but magnified on the PS4.”

In the video, Guay also expanded upon how the developer’s aiming to combine single player and multiplayer. “We want the player to be surprised when he meets other players, and we want him to be able to go from single player to multiplayer without having to go through a lobby, menus, and game settings," he added. "We want things to be natural, and to breach the wall between single player and multiplayer.”

You can hear a lot more from the developer in the video embedded below. Will you be connecting your next generation console to Watch Dogs later in the year, or are you planning to stick with the PS3 version? Let us know in the comments section below.
