Scoop up a great heap of salt and toss a hearty helping over your shoulder, because North American retailer Newegg is listing Gran Turismo 6 for the PlayStation 3. According to the online technology plaza, the racing simulator is due out on 28th November. That date’s likely to be a placeholder – it coincides with Thanksgiving – but the attached platform is certainly interesting.
Earlier in the year, Sony Worldwide Studios vice president Michael Denny mistakenly mentioned in an interview that the next entry in Polyphony Digital’s popular driving series would launch on the company’s current generation console. Chatting about the riches of software heading to the system in 2013, the executive said: “Look at the games coming out [...] like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, [and] GT6.”
SCEE gaffer Jim Ryan later added that there’s still plenty of noteworthy content in production for the PS3. "I'd point to the software line-up that we have coming up – God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, which is looking great, and Beyond: Two Souls later in the year," he explained. “And there's other stuff yet to be announced, which is highly significant too.”
The thought of the next instalment in Sony’s colossal simulation series deploying on existing hardware around the same time as the PS4 strikes us as odd, but the evidence is starting to mount up now. Treat this as a rumour for the time being – but unless Newegg’s been keeping up to date with the latest gaming speculation, then we’re not sure why it would suddenly decide to create a product page for an unannounced game.

Sorry to take the talk away from tedious cars but have you seen the news about Atlas? www.sankakucomplex.com/2013/04/16/atlus-doomed-as-insolvent-index-posts-huge-loss/ There could be no more Megami Tensei or Persona if things aren't sorted. And no sequel to Catherine, which I've been hoping for for two years Anyway, back to the boring cars...
If this really is for PS3 then... then... I don't even know.
Who cares, it is what it is and won't lessen Sony as the best console for the next generation
Man, I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Polyphony D. What the hell have those guys been doing for the past 5 years? GT5 was an awful re-hash of every other old GT game. They didn't even bother to update the race cup icons. Lame. They really need to freshen up thier whole game with way better multiplayer if they wanna stay in the biz.
@turbowhine_360 wasn't every series' 1st PS3 game a rehash?
Anyways, remind me what the problem is with another GT coming out, cause y'all are haters. Maybe it's for PS3 so it can also be for Vita or something. Sheesh
I absolutely LOVE GT5. Even thoguh I'd greatly prefer this to come out on PS4, I'm fairly sure the PS3 graphics will be on par with some PS4 release games anyways
BRING IT ON!
EDIT: You guys must love BMW. BMW screenshot for DriveClub, BMW screenshot for GT5. WHAT IS THIS SECRETLY SPONSORSHIP!?
If this comes out on PS3 I would probably not be able to stop myself from buying it. Would give me a good excuse to bring out my Logitech wheel again.
However, I really don't understand why they would do it. What new stuff would GT6 bring bring on the PS3 above GT5. More tracks, more cars for sure, but nothing groundbreaking. I just seems a waste of time.
They really should wait and release on PS4 pushing the hardware to the limit of realism with graphics, physics, motion tracking, crowds, weather etc. That would be worthy.
Oh, and they MUST add Bathurst.
