Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov's Revenge 1

The sequel to Frima Studio’s popular PlayStation Minis release Zombie Tycoon will stumble onto the PlayStation 3 and Vita on 30th April in North America and 1st May in Europe. The human-hungry digital download Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge will come equipped with cross-buy and cross-play functionality, though there’s no word on a price just yet.

The title sees you pick sides in the “epic war between two evil masterminds”, as former apprentice turned tearaway Orville Tycoon and his vengeance-stricken mentor Professor Brainhov compete for your attention. Depending on which faction you favour, you’ll be put in control of an army of bumbling corpses, or masses of fast-moving mutants. The question is: who will succeed?

“Tycoon’s mad machination to extinguish all life in Finkleville has almost reached its apogee,” explained community manager Laurent Mercure on the PlayStation Blog. “During the final siege on the human fortress, his former mentor makes a sudden comeback, seeking retribution for his apprentice’s betrayal and eager to reclaim his rightful place as alpha mad scientist.”

The game is essentially a mix of MOBA, real-time strategy, and tower defence, as the two disparate factions fight in fatal deathmatches. While there’s a full single-player campaign, the title also boasts a comprehensive competitive mode. “Pick a side and unleash your zombie hordes to destroy the mobile base commanded by your rival scientist,” Mercure continued. “To achieve that, you will be given control of two packs of zombies and a powerful monster unit to gain control over various buildings, level up, and ultimately face off in an epic battle.”

The developer promises that more information will be unearthed in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and let us know if you’re interested in the comments section.
