There’s life beyond the summer after all. Despite the majority of new video game releases being crammed into the opening six months of the year, Ubisoft has revealed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will don its night vision goggles on 20th August in North America. That’s mere months before the PlayStation 4 is rumoured to infiltrate store shelves.

The date was confirmed as part of a brand new trailer, which shows series protagonist Sam Fisher snapping necks and shooting people in the face. It also boasts some legacy footage of old presidential oaths to add an edgy tone. Do you solemnly swear to purchase the stealth shooter once it’s eventually deployed?
