Far Cry 3's Price Shot to Pieces in European Christmas Sale
Posted by Sammy Barker
Crackin' deal
If the relentless rain outside is getting you down, then you might be tempted by a trip to warmer climes this winter. Thankfully, Ubisoft has added Far Cry 3 to Sony's ongoing European Christmas countdown, allowing you to snap up the tropical adventure for just £24.99/€34.99. The title’s currently cheaper in retail outlets – but that price still represents a huge saving over the digital release’s usual cost of £59.99/€69.99. It also denotes the last of the platform holder’s festive offers.
The saving’s set to expire at 23:59PM GMT on 24th December, after which it’s back to standard pricing. Well, until the Boxing Day sales start on Wednesday anyway.

@Ginkgo To be fair, it's only just cheaper in shops. £22.49 compared to £24.99 isn't a huge amount. These have been really good discounts this year!

@get2sammyb Understand, but why would anyone pay more for a download.
Even if the price was equal I would buy the physical copy, because it is safer in case of a HDD crash etc. Physical copies include the costs of printing the disk, box/cover, transport, import duties and retail markup. Downloads have none of these costs. They should be cheaper.

@Ginkgo Well, they do incur bandwidth costs — but I totally see what you're saying.
