Your home will become a breeding ground for killer creepy crawlies next year, when Earth Defense Force 2025 targets the PlayStation 3. Namco Bandai has just dropped word that the Sandlot-developed squash ‘em up will infiltrate Sony’s system in 2013 – and it will bring a bevy of over-the-top action with it.

According to the company, the sequel will boast a slew of new missions, four-player online multiplayer, and more “city-levelling explosions” than you can shake a fly swat at. Additional details are scarce, but we expect more information to invade after the Christmas break. In the meantime, check out the title's first batch of itch-inducing screenshots through here.
