DmC's Innovative Difficulty Levels Will Make You Cry

Posted by Sammy Barker

Tears of blood

For a game that’s prompted outrage over its protagonist, we suppose it makes sense for Ninja Theory’s upcoming Devil May Cry reboot to feature a difficulty tier entitled ‘Dante Must Die’. The upcoming third-person action adventure will host a slew of special modes, alongside its standard Human, Devil Hunter and Nephilim options.

According to a post on Capcom Unity, the ‘Son of Sparda’ tier will change enemy placement and increase their difficulty by adding new behaviours. Meanwhile, the aforementioned ‘Dante Must Die’ mode will introduce “the strongest enemies and insane attack waves”.

‘Heaven or Hell’ will enable one-hit kills on everyone in the game, including Dante. And, finally, ‘Hell and Hell’ will make the controversial lead character the only person susceptible to one-hit deaths. We appreciate the effort, but none of these modes sound fun. Well, unless you’re the type of person that derives enjoyment from firing staples at your face anyway.

I've never played a DmC game before, but this looks really cool. I might get it.

I'm pretty sure the previous DMC games had these difficulty modes, not sure how this is "news".
