Resident Evil 6 failed to topple FIFA 13 from the top of the UK sales charts this week. The soccer simulation maintained its position at the summit of the list, despite strong competition from the hotly anticipated survival horror shooter. Indeed, Capcom’s controversial adventure registered the fourth biggest UK launch of the year – but it still wasn't enough to overcome EA Sports' colossal series.

Elsewhere, Borderlands 2 looted its way into third, while Just Dance 4 boogied into fourth. F1 2012 dropped down into fifth, as the critically acclaimed NBA 2K13 slam-dunked into sixth. At the bottom of the top-ten, faithful favourite The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim wandered into eighth, while Sleeping Dogs rested in tenth.
