Say goodbye to your social life

Haters may want to divert their attention elsewhere, because we’re about to say something positive about Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The publisher’s released the very first footage of the near-future shooter’s multiplayer component – and it actually looks really good.

Freed from the shackles of the modern day, developer Treyarch has been able to get creative with its weapon selection. That means you’ll now be augmented with rifles capable of seeing through walls, and whacky little remote controlled robots that explode on impact.

We know there’s a lot of cynicism surrounding Call of Duty, but the franchise's multiplayer is popular for a reason. This doesn’t look like it’s going to have any trouble establishing a player base.
