Don't look too excited

After some speculation, Namco Bandai has officially confirmed that it’s taking PlayStation 3 owners on a trip to the fantastical world of Rieze Maxia, as the hotly anticipated Tales of Xillia is finally set to journey overseas.

The RPG – which released in Japan late last year – explores the escapades of Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell. While the former is little more than an eager medical student, the latter is a mysterious woman accompanied by four unseen beings. You’ll be able to choose between either of the characters, before embarking on an adventure that sees you rescue the world from a dangerous device that’s consuming its mana.

Namco Bandai’s Oliver Comte said:

The recent success for last autumn’s release of Tales of the Abyss and the anticipated release of Tales of Graces F and its exclusive European Edition has helped make localizing Tales of Xillia for the western market one of the easiest decisions we have ever made.

The latest game in this prolific series gives gamers a brand new world and cast of characters to adventure with along with its celebrated battle system that has yet to be rivalled by other Japanese RPGs.

The game's set to release next year. Meanwhile, Japan is psyching itself for the recently revealed Tales of Xillia 2. Always ahead of the curve, those guys.
