We're tempted, too

Borderlands 2 is content complete. The Gearbox developed first-person shooter has been sent off to certification and testing ahead of its September release date. That means, aside from various bug fixes and balance tweaks, it's ready for public consumption.

But instead of sitting around twiddling its fingers, Gearbox is now switching its attention to free DLC for the co-op game. Writing on the studio's official website, community manager Chris Faylor explained that the team is now working on a new character class for the shooter known as the Mechromancer.

Brilliantly, once the content is complete (“roughly 60 to 90 days after launch”), it’ll be made available for free to anyone that pre-orders a copy of Borderlands 2 from participating retailers. And that’s “just one of the many bonuses” that will be offered to early adopters.

You know what you need to do, then.
