Irate elephants

For a series that’s so popular, there’s a bit of a negative buzz surrounding God of War: Ascension. We suspect it’s not because the game looks bad – it doesn’t – but more that it seems overwhelmingly familiar. It’s hard to disagree.

Still, there is the hint of some new mechanics in this single-player trailer. At one point Kratos freezes a foe in mid-air before eviscerating him with a series of lethal attacks. That’s sort of new, right?

If you stayed up late to watch Sony’s E3 press conference, then not much of this trailer will be new to you. Still, it’s worth watching again purely for the elephant man. That dude's weird.
