Anyone for tennis?

Those of you across the pond have our permission to tune-out while we inform our UK readers that the BBC Sports application for PS3 has entered beta. The free download – currently available from the “My Channels” area of the XMB – will allow you to stream a “huge quantity” of sporting events directly from Sony's home console.

The beta launches just days ahead of Wimbledon, which is set to kick-off on 25th June. It’ll also provide full coverage of the Olympics, and presumably the Euro 2012 finals.

We had a little look during lunch earlier today and the app seems to work well for pre-recorded content. The real test will be the live stuff, though.
