Upgrades on the way

We’ve been big proponents of the PlayStation Plus platform over the past couple of years. The value proposition continues to be exceptional, with frequent discounts and giveaways making up for the subscription fee alone. But while the service is solid as it is, Eurogamer.net reports that Sony is planning to announce a complete overhaul of the premium tier at E3.

According to the website, Sony will devote a portion of its E3 press conference to run through the specifics of the revamp. New features include full PlayStation Vita integration and top-tier game giveaways.

Vita integration is something that’s been widely demanded by Plus subscribers, and Sony looks set to deliver. The Eurogamer.net report mentions the addition of cloud saves for the portable platform, in addition to regular giveaways.

The article also notes that, as previously speculated, Sony may be on the verge of announcing a partnership with a major cloud gaming service. However, it cautions that the collaboration could be related to Bravia televisions rather than PlayStation consoles.

Sony recently released a survey to PlayStation owners in North America, discussing the possibility of changes to the current subscription format. The questionnaire quizzed potential customers on the type of upgrades they’d like to see added to the service, including Call of Duty: Elite memberships and more.

What changes would you like to see made to the PlayStation Plus service? And if you're not a subscriber yet, what would convince you to join?
