The ultimate sacrifice

As promised yesterday, the first details of Sony’s blockbuster Vita exclusive Soul Sacrifice have leaked online. The information comes courtesy of Japanese publication Famitsu, which has a seven page feature on the massively anticipated title.

The leak confirms that former Capcom man Keiji Inafune is indeed working on the project. He’s joined by legendary composers Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama. Meanwhile, Marvelous AQL has been confirmed as the game’s developer.

Gameplay details are still scarce, but apparently the sacrifice part of the title refers to magic. Each time you cast a spell, you’ll need to pay with items. These may be stones or trees you find in the game world, or body parts for more powerful magic. Sacrificing an eye, for example, will allow you to cast a Gorgon into battle.

The game’s expected to release this winter on PlayStation Vita, and will support up to four players. More details are expected to leak out later today, ahead of Sony’s big reveal press conference which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
