Jaffe's hyped

Outspoken video game director – and God of War creator – David Jaffe has not been put off by the upcoming God of War: Ascension's emphasis on multiplayer. Speaking with IGN, the legendary developer said that he thinks the game looks “cool” and that it is likely to be another “impeccably executed Santa Monica game”.

He continued:

I think that anger [aimed at the multiplayer] is well deserved for people who have felt [it's shoehorned into other] games, but I think so far Sony Santa Monica, and certainly that team, really hasn't done anything ever to let people down as game developers.

If it turns out to be the case that the single player is watered down because of it, then I think they have some justification. But I don't see any evidence of that, and I don't see evidence of that based on the team they are.

Director Todd Papy has promised God of War: Ascension’s single-player campaign will be fully realised, though he has warned that it may be a little shorter than previous outings.
