You know, the last thing we want to do when we oversleep is deal with a dozen angry clouds – but that’s exactly what Vita’s upcoming Wake-Up Club involves.
The free application — which transforms your expensive handheld into a glorified alarm clock — is designed around the creepy concept of “encouraging others to wake up at the same time”.
If you fail to wake-up within five minutes of your alarm, you’ll be attacked by the aforementioned angry clouds. Succeed, however, and you’ll shoot straight to the top of the Alarm Clock League — and earn yourself a gold trophy to boot.
We promise we’re not making any of this up.

Any word on if we can use any songs we want and that sort of thing? I downloaded the mario alarm clock on the 3ds only to be disappointed that we only had 3 song choices or a 6 second recording.
@Squiggle55 Hang on — there have been other portable game console alarm clock applications?
No idea whether you can use your own music for this. It seems there's going to be lots of different clock themes though.
I like the look of the different themes. Hopefully they have lots of choices of alarms as well as the choice to play your own music. I would even pay a buck to download something like rainforest noises. Then it may actually be my alarm clock.
@Squiggle55 Why rainforest noises?
How about some new games sony? and not just tat!
@get2sammyb it's soothing and non-intrusive. you should try it sometime!
@Squiggle55 But wouldn't that send you back to sleep?
@get2sammyb I suppose it could be risky for very heavy sleepers, but it's how I like to wake up. I would totally pay $1 for something like rainforest, thunderstorm, or beach alarms. Each with their own skin. Platinum trophy for waking up on time with soothing alarm clock. =p
I wake up to "Trogdor" from the "Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits" CD. The screaming works well for me. Rain forest...no, I don't think that would be very helpful.
So when is this releasing for the western ?
@kivi95 According the the US PlayStation Blog NA should get this ' Soon. ' Probably by June http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/04/17/paint-park-treasure-park-and-wake-up-club-coming-to-ps-vita-for-free/
