Not pictured: Orgarhythm (obviously)

Former SEGA employee Tak Hirai has a pretty convincing résumé. Not only was the Japanese developer a main programmer on the original Shenmue titles, but his credits also include the likes of Space Channel 5 and Meteos.

In September 2010 Hirai formed his own studio, Neilo. 18 months later, that studio has announced its first project: Orgarhythm for PlayStation Vita.

The game was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine and is to be published by Acquire. As the name suggests, Orgarhythm is a music title which blends strategy with sounds. Very little is known about the game itself, but Hirai himself describes it as “hard to understand”, adding that such games are “rare” these days.

Orgarhythm will feature competitive and co-operative multiplayer, and that’s all we know for now. It’s due out this summer.
