Mafia developer 2K Czech is collaborating with Rockstar North on Grand Theft Auto V, according to reports. A VG247 source claimed that the studio has been working on the game for almost a year, lending its cinematic expertise to help produce better cut-scenes for the hotly anticipated open world title.
According to the insider, the tech sharing goes both ways, with Rockstar also revealing secrets and lending support to 2K Czech. Allegedly, the collaboration is part of a wider strategy from overlord Take Two in order to turn the Mafia franchise into a blockbuster series.
2K Czech has purportedly just started work on Mafia III, after a year of extensive pre-production planning.
As we noted in our Mafia II review, 2K Czech did an outstanding job with the cinematic aspects of the game, but failed to really nail the gameplay.
