Need for speed and DLC

While Japanese and European gamers are already enjoying Ridge Racer on their Vita systems, North American gamers have been patiently waiting for the game to make its appearance. Well the wait is almost over.

Namco Bandai has just announced that Ridge Racer will now be released on 13th March in North America and the company is even tossing out a little free downloadable content to buyers who pick the game up before 30th April.

The game will set you back $29.99 for the retail release and $24.99 for the digital PSN version. The retail release will house a code that players can then use to download the Gold Pass DLC, which is also available to those who pick up the digital version.

Included in the Ridge Racer Gold Pass DLC:

  • Five additional machines: PROMESSA, ELENIE, DIGNISTAR, FATALITA and MELTFIRE
  • Three additional courses: Old Central, Sunset Heights and Lost Ruins
  • Two music tracks: NEW SONGS PACK 01
  • One new extended music mix: LONG MIX BGM 01

As if all of this good news wasn't enough, the developer has also stated that there will be a rather significant update to the game available on 13th March that will offer an improved framerate and sharper visuals.

More downloadable content will be coming for the game worldwide in April and we'll keep you updated on it and other Ridge Racer news as it become available.
