Watch out big-boys

Resident Evil 6 might still be several months away, but the title is already causing a stir in the marketplace according to publisher Capcom.

Speaking with Game Informer, Capcom’s Christian Svensson revealed that not only are pre-orders off to a stellar start, but the title’s announcement has also raised interest in the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

We thought it would actually raise the awareness of all things Resident Evil, and as it turns out it did. Our pre-orders for Revelations and Raccoon City were both helped on an upward spike with the announcement of Resident Evil 6.

The pre-orders for Resident Evil 6 are off to a fantastic start. The best start a Resident Evil game has ever had.

Svensson continued that Capcom is maintaining a bullish attitude regarding Resident Evil 6’s release right in the middle of the busy holiday season.

We’re saying, ‘Get the hell out of the way.’ We’re a big game. We’re letting you know we’re coming. We’re giving people plenty of room to move around us.

It’s a bit of an arrogant statement from Svensson but we think it’s fair. Resident Evil is a massive franchise, and we suspect that the likes of Call of Duty will at least have half an eye on the game’s November release date.
