Vanquishing the competition

Don’t expect to be playing Shinji Mikami’s next game until 2013 at the earliest. The former Resident Evil man – now at the summit of Zenimax-owned development studio Tango – told 4Gamer [via Andriasang] that the studio would not have anything to show in 2012.

According to Mikami, Tango’s new title uses an external engine (Unreal?) but has been customised to the point where it is almost an internal one. Sadly, Mikami didn’t share any more specifics about the game.

Having received a ship-load of copies of Skyrim last year though, Mikami did state that the Bethesda title had “stimulated him as a creator”. That’s good news, because when Mikami’s on form, there’s no one better.
