Zone Of The Enders 3 isn't happening yet, but Hideo Kojima's not ruling out the title entirely.

Alright, so maybe it's not quite that extreme, but few would deny that the next entry in Hideo Kojima's mech combat series is not heavily anticipated.

Sadly, Kojima has admitted that his studio just doesn't have the resources to produce the game right now. But the designer has teased that the company's new Fox Engine technology might make the game's development possible in the future.

"We want to make [Zone Of The Enders 3] as well, the only thing is that we don't have staff who are able to work on that game," he told GamerFitNation at the VGAs over the weekend. "We have an environment where we could work on it using the Fox Engine. If we had staff available to work on that game, we would like to."

Announced earlier in the year, the Fox Engine will facilitate the “shortened development time” of blockbuster games. The studio has been working on the technology since the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots.

A remastered version of the original two Zone Of The Enders games is due out next year on PS3.
