Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 headed up a strong week for UK video game's retail.

In fact, according to Chart Track, sales were down by 1.5 percent on Black Ops. Someone get on the blower to Bobby Kotick quick. Thankfully, revenue was up by 1.6 percent.

Ridiculously, Modern Warfare 3 moved "just under" 2 million units in its first five days on sale. It made £83.1 million of revenue, making it a bigger entertainment launch in the UK than the last four Harry Potter films combined. Toss in Black Ops' first week sales too, and the Call Of Duty series would be easily able to outpace the entire Harry Potter film series. Nuts.

Unsurprisingly, Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim clawed its way into second, cementing the biggest week in UK video game sales ever. The sector as a whole made a record breaking £120.8 million over the past seven days.
