Sony still has big plans for Move

With Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception out last week, every other Sony PS3 title for this year supports PlayStation Move. Pretty impressive stuff, and something PlayStation wants to publicise with a £2m marketing campaign intended to shout about the motion controller this Christmas.

Sony Computer Entertainment UK's product manager for Move is John Aikins, who recently told MCV about the company's plans for a bright Christmas:

We’re using a two-tiered marketing approach for the PlayStation Move activity this year to engage the consumer and make Move and its software must-haves for 2011. The hero tier focuses on genre-defining titles that enable the consumer to exploit the full functionality of Move, including DanceStar Party, Medieval Moves and EyePet and Friends.

SCE UK has booked adverts in high-profile TV slots and around family-friendly cinema releases, with an online campaign designed to target three key segments for a successful Move Christmas: "mothers, mainstream and motion control consumers," in Aikin's words.

With a pretty wide range of PlayStation Move games coming soon including Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest and Start the Party: Save the World, Sony's hoping to give Move sales a boost this Christmas. We'll see if that £2m is well spent in the coming months.
