PlayStation Vita's 3G Capabilities Will Mostly Be Reserved For Social Networking Features.

SCEA's senior staff developer support engineer Chris Norden confirmed the information at a GDC Online session overnight.

The limit means you won't be able to download the likes of Uncharted: Golden Abyss while sitting on a park bench, but you will however be able to grab full titles via Wi-Fi. Norden confirmed that titles upwards of 4GB could be downloaded via the PlayStation Network.

Norden also explained in a Q&A that the Vita is perfectly capable of accomodating free-to-play, microtransaction-driven titles, adding that developers are “free to explore whatever business model they want".
