Sonic Generations Might Spell That Last You See Of Classic Sonic For Some Time.

The upcoming title's combination of throw-back Sonic The Hedgehog gameplay and modern three-dimensional action has proven a hit with gamers ever since SEGA announced the move.

But while Sonic Generations is set to become one of the best selling titles in the blue blur's history, SEGA has no plans on bringing back the classic Sonic gameplay that's gotten nostalgic fans drooling and desperate to get their hands on the title.

“Do you know what? There are no plans to bring Classic Sonic back,” European brand manager David Corless told Sonic Stadium, "The reason for bringing him back for this game was because this is a celebration of 20 years of Sonic. It was a real fitting time to do it. He’s really well loved. Let’s see how Generations does. You can never say never in this industry, but at the moment there are no plans."

We reckon SEGA will change its mind once it sees the reaction to Sonic Generations. With long time fans branding this the best Sonic game in years, surely the publisher has to take notice?
