Japanese Gamers Are After The 3G PlayStation Vita Ahead Of The Standard Model.

The retailer reports that 65 percent of reservations for Sony's new handheld were for the 3G version, while just 35 percent were for the standard model.

The retailer added, that 82 percent of buyers decided to order a memory stick too, with around 72 percent of people opting for the heavily overpriced 32GB stick.

Game pre-orders were less exciting, with a tie-rate of only 0.57 percent, but there are probably multiple explanations for this. Gamers may be waiting for reviews before deciding which launch titles to purchase, or some may be planning on utilising their 32GB memory sticks to download games, rather than purchase them at retail.

PlayStation Vita launches in Japan on December 17th. All indications point to it being a mega sell-out upon release.
