It seems the wait for Sony's upcoming PlayStation Vita won't be quite as long as once expected. Sony has just announced at the Web 2.0 conference that it will be launching Vita in North America, Europe and Australia on 22nd February 2012.
The PlayStation Vita will be sold in two configurations: a 3G/Wi-Fi model for $299.99 and a Wi-Fi-only model for $249.99.
We'll keep you posted on any new developments regarding the PlayStation Vita and its upcoming launch, and we'll have full reviews of all launch titles shortly after their release in February.

I'm satisfied with that date, it will give me time to play more of the big titles on PS3 releasing over the next few months.

Awww... I though it'd come out in December to give the 3DS a run for its money, but good for Vita; now 3DS doesn't have to rip the it apart this holiday season.
Color me excited now!
No word about the incoming Memory Card ripoff?
